The Internet hates me!

Monday, January 24th, 2005

Must be some sort of karmic payback or something. I can’t pay any bills online tonight through my bank; I’ll bet American Express won’t take that as an excuse for my payment being late. Blogger.com still doesn’t play nice with the Safari Web browser – various Blogger functions still do not work properly, though I’ve been advised by the Blogger help team that they’re working on it.

Combine the Eagles win with a pay raise at work and a great girlfriend, and I guess I’m overdue for something to go wrong. Makes me a bit nervous about going running tomorrow morning…

$#@% snow!

Monday, January 24th, 2005

At least a foot of snow fell here in Philadelphia on Saturday. We’re supposed to get another inch or two tonight, and then more snow on Wednesday. Followed by some more Arctic cold. Grrr!! I haven’t been out running in over 10 days (I have a 20 degree temperature limit; if it’s below 20, I’m not going to go), and I’m starting to get a bit stir-crazy. I’m going to try to go in the morning, provided that it’s not too cold again. I’m even willing to risk slipping and sliding in the running shoes just to get out and do something. Now I know I could join a gym, but it seems rather pointless to me to do that just for the treadmill for a few months. I have never had to take this much consecutive time off from running since I started up again almost 5 years ago.

Fly, Eagles, Fly!

24 years is a long time to wait for something. And finally Eagles fans have the chance to rejoice! We’re going to the Super Bowl! I am finally able to say or type the name of the game without feeling like I’m going to jinx the whole thing. A bit of a carry-over from my Duke student days, but it makes psychological sense to me. The only thing I’m not looking forward to is the next 2 weeks of hype. I already don’t want to deal with it. I just want to buy my souvenir swag and wait for February 6.
