Enough with the reality TV!

Sunday, January 8th, 2006

Having seen ads for “American Idol” and “Ice Skating with the Stars” (or whatever Fox is calling it), I now believe that reality TV has finally jumped the shark (or jumped the couch, if you prefer). Are we so unbelieveably bored with our own lives that we would want to watch C-list “celebrities” learn how to ice skate? I still never understood the whole “Star Dancing” thing. Who really wants to watch this crap?

I will admit to having watched the first “Joe Millionaire”, but only because Fox decided to be so snarky about it. Of course it helped that the guy was a complete moron, but I digress. I also watched “Average Joe” for the same reason. At least those shows (in their first go-arounds) has the temerity (also known as “guts” or “balls”) do try to drop the genre on its head. I guess that wasn’t enough.

As long as I don’t have to suffer for ads for those shows while watching the new season of 24, I’ll be happy.
